Re: FReiza Round 8 SILVERSTONE 26th OCT
Tire choice is the default for this track....I do not see any tire choices in the track GDB.
Re: FReiza Round 8 SILVERSTONE 26th OCT
Oops, we should have put the tyre choices in before making it available for download, else you got all 4 available, I think!
Silverstone was Medium and Hard for these cars.

Leave the tyre choice as is, it is going to make it interesting.

Re: FReiza Round 8 SILVERSTONE 26th OCT
Tire choice is all 4 for this track.
I'm the only one that's been online so far, so my thoughts.....The supersoft lasted less than 3 laps. Qualifying only.
The soft will make 9 laps, depending how you treat them and the mediums have far less grip.
It's going to be another race decided on tires and how you use them. Interesting..

Re: FReiza Round 8 SILVERSTONE 26th OCT
I notice very few drivers have been on the practice track this week.
I hope you can all handle this track?
No matter, more points for me.

Race 1
Another disaster...was in 5th place after 3 laps and...Disconnect!! No more to be said.
Race 2
Started off slowish but tried to keep steady and save tires. By the time I pitted on lap 11 I was again in 5th. Stayed there for the rest of the race and made a few mistakes along the way. Glad this track is over....

Re: FReiza Round 8 SILVERSTONE 26th OCT
I think the big talking point here was which tyres to use. Everyone was quiet before the race as to what they think is best.
I used Softs in both as the Mediums had very little grip. The Softs again could not last half distance so one had to be careful towards their end-of-life last laps.
I never get a good start with these cars so I lost a few places after the start of race 1 but gained it soon and was behind Eugene as Gert spun out or something. Finished the race in second behind Eugene. WD Eugene.
Race 2 was another slow starter but was in 3rd behind Gert and Eugene towards the end of the first lap. After the pit stops I found myself ahead of Eugene with Gert very close by. When Gert spun in front of me I took the lead - but then I spun so Gert pass me. Then Gert spun and I was in the lead again. This time I told myself to stay calm and I kept Gert and Eugene at bay with 2.5 seconds gap. With 1.5 laps to go, I came across Migs and as I was to lap him, he lost it in a left hander. Guess what - I spun with him - Oh no, both Gert and Eugene pass me. Not your fault Migs. As I am typing this race report I want to kick myself and bang my head again my wheel. I HAD THIS RACE IN THE BAG. WD Gert though.
See you guys on track soon again. Have a great week.

Re: FReiza Round 8 SILVERSTONE 26th OCT
I can't believe the amount of times I spun on this track last night. Like christo said tyre choice was kept a closely garded secret. But with the amount of times some guys spun, including me I think tyre choice did not really matter. I did both races on mediums. I had good pace with the medium tyres. I did a 1:30.894 with the medium tyres in the first race. My fastest quali time was in offline with a 1:28.6 so i had good pace on the track.
Race 1:
Q 3 P 4
Had a poor start. got stuck in traffic in the first lap. Outbreaked myself in turn 6. I also had contact with someone outbreaking myself. Sorry who ever it was. Really stupid from me. I allmost quit the race cause I ended up spinning a few times. One I setteld down after me pit I got into the Grove. But is was little to late.
Race 2:
Q1 P1
I had a fare start on the medium tyres, keeping in mind the other guys started on softs around me. So the start was crusial. I had Eugene on my 6 for most of the first few laps cause he had the soft tyres. I had to be fast & defend at the same time. After the first few laps I then pulled a small gap on Eugene. Pitted on lap 10 & came out 5 seconds ahead of Christo who had ended in second place by that time. He closed the gap on me with his soft tyres. thats when the fun started. I spun on places where I did not spin during practice sessions. Was a bit shocked at what happened. With all 3 of us in the front spinning it was who could keep his car on the road. Glad I managed to keep it on the road at the end to take the win in race 2.
WD Christo
& Eugene, you guys had some good pace.
