This is bull. I rush back from holiday to come race. I do qualify then all of a sudden get told to change my car after qualifying cause it says mismatch all of a sudden. I change my car as kevin says quickly then in warmup it's fine and as I enter race it kicks me cause I can't compete in the car. This is bull. It's an honest waste of my time rushing back from holiday for this. It's so unfair. It's a skinned car that was done for me but now this. This is not the first time this has happened. Must I use a different car in future and please tell me what car to use if so. Thanks

So sorry to hear about this Fraser, I would be even more cross than you. As you did drive with us before it is impossible to say straight out what went wrong.
What I suggest, and also speaking to the guys on TS, is to put in all the extra cars again. We have compiled a file for you with all the cars in one file and put it under the File Browser in the Game Stock Car room of TS. Download this and put all cars in again.
At the same time you can update your game to Version 1.31.
If you join us on TS then we can always help you out.
Please join us next Friday or Saturday before the next race so we can sort you out.

Sorry about that Fraser. The file in teamspeak should i hope help you out. Seemed when a normal unskinned car joined you had a issue. Hopefully we wont have the issue again once you add those cars.

Now the race meeting was epic, super close times. I screwed up my quali for race 1, but race 2 did a decent time for quali. The races i was just too cautious on the first lap to try avoid incidents and ended up getting passed by a number of cars each time! Ine race 1 Kevin came flying past, then i bumped him expecting him to be faster...sorry totally my fault. Race 2, wow Dirk had the start of all starts!!! Through the middle was amazing Dirk. I had a decent start but not good enough, and was chasing once again. Once i was in 2nd and all over Dirk i decided to pit early but came out in traffic and lost any advantage and then had to fight for my places. Then Gustav came out the pits in front of me too...and i thought i had to attack while his tires were cold and i ran a bit deep into the corner...still made the corner but placed my car giving Gustav no where to go but into me so had to pit after a few spins from the damage.

All in all a good nights racing. Very glad Eugene could make it tonight. Plus a return of Migs...awesome i hope we see more of you Migs. Well done to Dirk on his win in race 2, and i think Gustav in race 1? Excellent fun tonight guys, look forward to the next race!

NIPPON CHALLENGE ROUND 5 DONINGTON 5th APRIL Empty Re: NIPPON CHALLENGE ROUND 5 DONINGTON 5th APRIL

Post by Guest 6th April 2015, 09:50

thanks Denis... it is very nice to be back.
Judging from my performance, a little rust has crept in from being away. I only got my pc setup with all the updates around 3pm yesterday and basically that gave me about 4 hours of practice.

Somehow, my pc also felt the effect of not being switched on for over 2 months that its gremlins also plagued me. At one point, even my hard drive didn't get recognised by windows... it just vanished. Anyway, along story short, I got about 1 hour's practice and Christo did help me with a setup but too little time to have any impact. Thanks Christo Smile

In both races my starts were fine but race 1 saw me have to dodge Denis through turn 1 has he was also dodging someone else. Got smacked from behind as a result and spun onto the grass... left that corner in last place to start my chase. Before pitting, I was in 1st place so not a bad stint. Ended in 5th place.

Race 2 again got smacked through turn 1 and again left that corner at the back, this time with quite a bit of damage. Drove a decent race but made a noob mistake when Ryan passed me. Regardless, managed I think a respectable 4th place.

Great driving by everyone and I see a definite change in driver courtesy from the last time I drove. Well done everyone. Very Happy

NIPPON CHALLENGE ROUND 5 DONINGTON 5th APRIL Empty Re: NIPPON CHALLENGE ROUND 5 DONINGTON 5th APRIL

Post by Kevin 6th April 2015, 10:01

Some days it all just comes together!!!

Qualified in 7th for race one and thought I had a chance to do well.
Race 1
Got off the line very smooth and as we turned the first bend, I noticed all the drivers were going wide? Anyway, put my foot down and hey, I was in 4th! Didn't hold it for too long though, maybe not used to being so close to the front. Pit stop went without a problem and drove in 6th most of the race. Christo finally came up to me and zooom, away he went.
Ended the race in a good 7th. Doesn't sound too impressive, but the level of driving is improving every race and it's harder to gain a good finish.

Race 2
Qualified very low down, 11th I think.
Also, had a bit of damage after contact with a car that spun in front of me. Car felt fine though.
Slowly moved up to 7th place again and pitted on lap 9. Took forever to repair the car!
Once on the road again, I went faster and faster with each lap and finally came home in 5th.
Great evening's racing.
Thank you all for taking part and great to see Migs at the starting line again.

See you all next week!

NIPPON CHALLENGE ROUND 5 DONINGTON 5th APRIL Empty Re: NIPPON CHALLENGE ROUND 5 DONINGTON 5th APRIL

Post by Dirk 6th April 2015, 11:49

As mentioned earlier in this thread: I love this track. A slight let-up in work pressure also allowed me to put in the practice time I would always like to do. I did > 350 laps in preparation, and was a close 3rd in fastest practice times behind Denis & Christo.

Race 1: I qualified a mildly disappointing 4th with Gustav not only creeping into the top 3 but spoiling the party entirely by putting it on pole. Well done Gus! Nevertheless, the gap between the top 4 was just 0.3s, and I'm quite pleased with that. I had a so-so start in the race and in turn 1 I went ever so slightly wide (entirely my own fault), which saw me drop down to 7th. My damage gauge didn's show any damage, but for some reason my car was just slow for the rest of the race - I was running consistently 1-2 seconds off my usual pace. Maybe floor damage from running over the kerb in t1? Anyway, I brought it home in 5th, which I suppose is OK, being only 1 down from my quali position.

Race 2: Well... Race 2... I qualified in 4th once again, and had a perfect start. I must say: it was quite a high-pressure decision to have to make in an instant... What do I do with my lighting start? Do I try and pass, with the risk of people closing the gap, or do I play it safe and tap off? Luckily everybody held formation, and it was quite easy to stick it right down the middle safely, right into holeshot for corner 1! Now the pressure was really on not to make mistakes because I knew it would be very difficult for the faster guys to pass me on this track. I managed to hold station, and saw first Christo, then Denis, then Gustav get frustrated behind me and pitting to try and pass me in the pits. I figured I'd just make hay while the sun shines and take advantage of a nice clean track ahead to try and do some solid, if not spectacular, laps and hope they run into some traffic. I pitted on lap 11, and lo and behold I emerged still in the lead. From here I was absolutely fixated on the delta to the guys behind me, and saw Christo getting to within 1.3s of me at one stage, but he went slightly wide on the one dreaded kerb and dropped back to about 4s again. It was then just a matter of managing the lead and not making any mistakes to bring it home in a very satisfying 1st.

Thanks to all for a great race meeting once again.
