SPECIAL Race night Empty SPECIAL Race night

Post by Christo Nieuwoudt 16th April 2015, 17:09

A Special race night is planned for this coming Friday, 17 April 2015, driving different cars on various tracks to determine which are the best suited to replace the current Nippons.
All are welcome to join us, that are those with Exdom power. If you cannot join the server while in race mode maybe, try joining a few minutes later.
Also join us on TeamSpeak as we will discuss the cars, the handling etc.
Christo and Kevin.

Those Formula 3 cars are totally chuckable!!!

Have to say as most know i find the Formula 3 cars brilliant. The V12 cars are also great fun to drive.

I actually found the Metalmoro ok, i know some did not like it but i think on a better track its actually not too bad.

My Nippon replacement choices would be...

1: Formula 3
2: Formula V12
3: Formula Classic.

A few guys tried them offline too, will try get them to all view their opinions on the cars.

We had a hell of a lot of fun on Friday night with the testing. Very enjoyable Very Happy

My choices would be...
1: Formula 3
2: Formula V12
3: Formula Classic.
The Formula 3 is not as exciting as V12, but I think we will have closer racing with the F3's. It seems they are also suitable to a lot of tracks.

I must say Reiza did a good job with these single seaters. So enjoyable to drive.

I also like the Formula Extremes, but that 8th gear disappearing act disqualifies them for racing.

Here is a link to a mod we would like you to try...

NEW LINK POSTED

Thanks to Christo for the time and effort in getting it fixed and ready to drive.

Try them on a few tracks please guys and give us feedback. We feel these are the front runners to replace the Formula Nippons.

Gave it a quick test drive. First impression: loads of grip, great acceleration out of the turns. Much easier to catch than the F V12.
Very chuckable!

There should be a sounds folder along with car and talent. 3 folders in all.
I hope Christo didn't forget to add them. If he did, we will upload the sounds this evening.

EDIT:
I am uploading the sounds folder now. It's 45 mb.
You will find it in the LOBBY FILE BROWSER of TS.
Give me 20 minutes

It's called Sounds.rar

Post by Denis Mitchell 20th April 2015, 13:47

Gave the cars a go, i have sounds but external sounds are weird!
Cockpit view is also a bit weird, drivable but odd.
Lots of grip but when it power slides it feels a bit weird. Much better than the Nippons i think, but i still prefer the Formula 3 for realism and feedback. Another thing...these cars overheat after a lap even on default radiator size of 6 the engine goes red!!!

They not bad, certain aspects i think are nice and a GP2 series sounds good but they still feel a bit off to me. Tried them on Interlagos and Bahrain, with traction off and traction on low. Throttle response feels good and sounds nice...but just how the car slides feels weird when traction is off and these cars have no traction in real life...hmm i think this comes in 3rd place for me in the 4 cars we got on the list!

1st : Formula 3
2nd : Formula V12
3rd : GP2
4th : Formula Classic
