Driving Force Pro?

Post by inika101 on 12th July 2015, 08:37

Hey guys,

I found a really dirt cheap Logitech driving force pro that I have my eye on. I know that the DFGT is a better wheel in a lot of ways but this one is a lot cheaper and would really help me out at the moment.

Has anyone ever driven with this wheel? Just want to know a few things:
Is the ffb any good?
Does the 900 degrees work on pc and gsce? (I've read about guys experiencing issues that locks the wheel at 90 degrees)
Is this wheel any good for racing with?

Thanks in advance!

I dont have one, but i have its replacement the DFGT and as far as i know its still 900 rotation, and its still a top wheel in iRacing. 900 rotation works on GSCE, but i dont recommend it for most if any cars. Most i ever run is 540 on any wheel.

My average is 320, but 220 for the Reiza cars.

The FFB is pretty decent. Its the same as the DFGT which is good enough. Where these wheels fall short is their pedals not the wheel themselves!

So the degrees of rotation is adjustable in the driver then. What difference do more/less degrees of rotation make though?

You don't have to turn the wheel so much and get more direct steering.
F1 cars use a lot less rotation than GT cars.

Yes you adjust the rotation in the Logitech Windows software. It must match what you have in the game.

Older games did not support higher rotation, so games using the Gmotor2 engine from rFactor like GSCE, should never need 900. Newer games are smarter and if you run 900 but the car in reality uses 540, it then maps it to stop at 540.

Its also personal feel...more rotation means stability at the cost of speed and visa versa. More rotation also means catering for it with your steering lock in your car setup.
