Howzit Everybody!

IMPORTANT:
For those who are driving the Honda HSV-010 GT and everyone!

I have noticed with the SGT500's that most of the road noise was gone from all the Honda HSV-010 GT cars. This includes rumble strips, road noise, small stones & some ambient noises...

So I was able to track down the problem and I have made a small fix(only 2.22KB) for the Honda's sounds:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/32pf3et1wv1k5ld/PSGT500s_HSV010_Honda_Sound_Fix!.rar

Please add this update Kevin!

As for which car I am going to choose... I am stuck between the "NIPPON PROJECT Honda HSV-010" and the "Impul Calsonic & Zanavi Nismo Nissan GT-R"... still deciding Question hehe

Well spotted (listened) Eugene. This is such a great MOD but whoever started or converted it, never completed it. With your sound update, my roof fix for the Nissans and adding all the skins etc, this could very well become our premium MOD to run alongside the Open wheelers next year. The external sound of the Honda's are so great I actually was going to modify it as such to hear it as internal sounds !!!
Thanks a lot.

The game has been reloaded on the server just in case and tested. All seems to be working fine.
PLEASE TAKE IT EASY ON THE FIRST LAP AND BE CAREFUL AT THE START. THESE CARS SPIN OUT VERY EASILY.
GOOD LUCK ALL

Post by Christo Nieuwoudt 29th November 2014, 14:42

Mmm... Racing starts in 4 hours and 15 minutes, so last minute setups and pit stop strategies is all that is needed.
Just a few pointers;

1. At least one pit stop to replace tyres must be done. More if needed can be done.
2. The starting lights do not show a green light for the track. If you have GID installed then you will be fine. Beware not to get a jump start penalty if you have to rely on the track lights. The red track lights will come on one by one, then they will go out. There will then be a siren (not sure if you will hear it with the noise around you as everyone is preparing to go) after which you can go after a slight delay. Alternatively get away with the other cars around you.
3. These cars have launch control installed to help you off the line. Once on the grid, press the / (forward slash key - same key as ?). Keep this key in and wait for the count down. DO NOT RELEASE THE KEY. Start revving you car. It will rev around 4000 - 5000 rpm and 1st gear will engage. ONCE the lights go green then only release the / key and away you go. The car will be in automatic gearbox mode until the first time you brake. For those who do not want to use it, take off carefully in a straight line as you do not want to ruin someone else's race.
4. There is still a problem with the NISSAN skins. Now that we have fixed the roof colours, it seems that although you will select your car as the Coca Cola for instance, it could show as something else in the garage and on track. It will not be a problem in the race so you may keep your car. I think we have found the problem and me and Eugene will fix it with an update to follow.
5. We have not all selected a team name, so use any car available. Should you see someone else with the same car (Honda or Lexus) then you may go out to select another one.
6. There are cars dedicated to Simtec and ShadowRacing. Look in the showroom for the Simtec Racing or ShadowRacingRSA number plate on the front windscreen.
7. USE THE PIT EXIT JUST AFTER FIRST SHARP BEND, DO NOT GO ALL THE WAY PAST THE OLD PITS. BE CAREFUL OF CARS WHEN EXITING ONTO TRACK

Thanks to Kevin we have fixed the server problem of last night. Brand new install of game so we should not have issues.
Enjoy the racing tonight - be EXTRA cautious through the first corner.

Perfect start from all the drivers and a record field! Great stuff guys.
Started the race fairly well and was ahead of Peter in 7th place when I made a stupid mistake and spun the car on a corner. Lucky no damage. Dropped to 10th and just couldn't get back in the groove. Pitted from 7th place on lap 18 and dropped back again to 10th. That's where I stayed to the end.
I really don't mind as I just wanted the race to go smoothly which it did.
Well done to all the drivers that took part and look forward to the next one. Rolling Eyes

Great race guys, that was super fun! I had a great qualifying pushed all the way by Kyukyu...and was looking like we would have a stellar race but some early spins and then a connection issue robbed us of that fight.

I seemed to pull a nice gap taking it fairly easy but not easing off enough to loose focus, then we started passing backmarkers when i got caught out by one of them! Sorry for the contact, you kinda just stopped and i had nowhere to go! After that i had some front end damaged and had to now watch the hard charging Migs! Migs pace towards the end was great compared to mine but i managed to hold Migs off!

Massive thank you to Kevin and the guys for hosting this great event! Really nice clean start too, very impressive with such a tight first corner and big field. Well done to the other podiums for Migs and Christo, very well driven to the rest of you guys too. Some nice clean dices in the pack tonight.

And a big thank you to Simtec for having some guys here to join us too!

Thanks for the fun race.
This was my first race on this sim, as well as first race using SimtecRacing's great facilities and simulator.

We done to the front runners - that was some fantastic pace Smile

I had never done a proper race and am brand new to this sim, and about 10 laps in it occurred to me I didn't really know when to pit...luckily all went smoothly and I had a mostly clean race with some good fights ontrack.

Thanks to everyone who organised the event, and to Simtec for helping me with a car setup (I have no clue)

Was awesome to see such a big field of cars. Thanks for everyone who joined us for this race. It seems to be so popular that Sebring was already mentioned for the next outing. By then we will fix the few Nissan skin issues so the cars will show up correctly.

I started in 3rd place behind KyuKyu and Denis and remained there for a while until Migs passed me using slip streaming. Which KyuKyu out (sorry my friend you must be disappointed to say the least) I tailed Migs for many laps but lost big time in trying to pass a slower driver. With 10 seconds lost I just drove to finish the race on the podium. Well done to everyone who finished the race. Remarkably only 3 out of the 17 entries did not see the chequered flag. WELL DONE. Was such clean driving from everyone.

An idea for you to evaluate... Idea
In the Blancpain GT Series they run 2 championships in parallel, a Sprint Series with 2 sprint races on one weekend and an Endurance Series with one (very) long race the other weekend. At the end of the year there is a Sprint Champion, an Endurance Champion and an Overall Champion.
So why not run a similar championship next year, mixing in an endurance event every few (2? 3?) sprint events? The Simtec guys could join in the endurance championship for example if they are interested...
The Blancpain series has the cars of our GT mod (which I still prefer), but the SGT500 is also absolutely great to drive.

Hello guys. Last nights race was one for the books, everybody stuck to the rules and raced like true gentlemen on the track. All of us at Simtec had a great race, and we all finished which is an achievement in an endurance race, where you need to hold that level of concentration and keep a nice consistent pace all to the end.

Very well done to Denis, Migs and Christo. You guys are in a league of its own,  racing like true professionals WD. Had trashed my front bumper after my pit stop after the famous Raidillon Eau Rouge, and wasn't going to pitting again as SteveS drove like a champ and was right behind me, eventually making me work to get back my 4th place towards the end, thanks for the battle buddy.

And to Kevin, Christo and Christie. You guys did an amazing job with the organizing of the race, we all really appreciate the work you guys put in and do!
Providing us with awesome mods and great racing.

The true best part was that we started the race and there was no need to restart it..Great sportsman ship all around and one day hopefully we can have everyone together after the race via web cam or face to face and share a dop cheers .

WELL DONE to everybody in South Africa's PREMIER ONLINE RACING LEAGUE OF CHAMPIONS. Very Happy
